UNICEF remains committed to support malaria prevention strategies and ensure increased accessibility, availability and affordability of the most needed products. 

The distribution of Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) is a cornerstone to protecting children and their families against malaria. During the past few years, the procurement quantities of LLINs have decreased substantially primarily due to funding availability delays. 

In this note, UNICEF profiles its view of the current LLIN market and procurement trends, and cautions on the impacts of this downward trend (including reductions in production capacity) and a lack of coordination from procurement partners.
