In 2012, half of the 29,000 MT of RUTF procured by UNICEF was sourced in Africa. Of this, 2,800 MT was manufactured in Niger by Societé Transformation d’Alimentaire (STA), a wholly owned and operated Nigerien enterprise in the nation’s capital, Niamey.

The UNICEF/STA partnership behind this has not only simplified the supply chain, but contributed to the local economy. See full article and video here.
