Country update – Supply chains for emergency supplies in Maharashtra

15. June 2014

UNICEF Mumbai is a sub office in the India country office and is supporting the state Government of Maharashtra (at their request) to assess the supply chain for essential emergency supplies (Call to Action 5x5 matrix) in tribal areas of the state.

The tribal areas are the most deprived and offer us the strategies to reach out to the last mile issues of reach and quality of care. KPMG has been assigned to do the study for us and I will keep you posted on the developments.

The tools are under development now by KPMG in consultation with the Government. The field assessment will consist of a team from both the Govt and KPMG so that the former's capacities will be built along the way.
